AGENDA & SPEAKERS

Take Action Event & Reception

Conference registration INCLUDES attendance at our inaugural Take Action Event & Reception. At the conclusion of the first day of WorldAffairs 2010, the World Affairs Council, in collaboration with the Young Professionals International Forum, will convene a powerful group of innovative organizations working in the key conference topic areas: Global Economy & Recession, International Development & Poverty, Environment & Climate Change, and Global Security & Human Rights. These organizations represent the best and brightest ideas on actionable approaches to substantive social change.

This portion of the conference begins with two nonprofit leaders framing the event with a discussion on Great Ideas: Local Solutions to Global Problems. John Wood, Founder & Executive Chairman of Room to Read and Craig Newmark, Founder of Craigslist will discuss innovation strategies, social change and making a difference.

The evening will then continue with drinks, food and more than 15 nonprofit organizations gathered to discuss and engage the public, conference speakers and attendees on the most effective ways to incite social change. For individual tickets and more information, visit Take Action Event & Reception.
