The agenda focused on leadership transitions in Iraq and the Palestinian Territories, and the impending Israeli pullout in Gaza. The 2005 Conference gathered a group of leading foreign policy experts from around the world to debate, discuss, and learn about the future of a region vital to world security. Speakers for this conference included experts such as Peter Schwartz, CEO of Global Business Networks; Marina Ottaway, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Judith Miller, The New York Times; Shai Feldman, Brandeis University; J.
