Exploring the Southern Cone: Argentina and Chile

Wayne Berhardson, Travel Writer

Wayne Bernhardson, author of Moon Handbooks Argentina, will give a digital presentation about travel to and through Argentina and Chile. In addition to the metropolis of Buenos Aires—the continent’s highest-profile capital—he will cover Argentina’s attractions from the torrential subtropical falls of Iguazú to the tip of Tierra del Fuego, including the wildlife-rich marshes of Iberá, the northwestern canyon country of Salta and the glaciers of Patagonia. Mr. Bernhardson will also discuss his recent trip to Chile, exploring both the aftermath of the devastating February earthquake and current efforts to rebuild.

Wayne Bernhardson has devoted himself to writing guidebooks on the “Southern Cone” countries of Argentina and Chile, as well as Uruguay and the Falkland Islands, for more than two decades. He has a PhD in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley, and owns an apartment in Buenos Aires with his Argentine wife.
